In 2018, the National Statistical Institute continued to pursue successfully its policy for development of cooperation with the countries from the European Neighbourhood Policy- Eastern Partnership” (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).

For the second consecutive year, the NSI conducted a training course for young statisticians from six countries within the framework of the Bulgarian Development Assistance Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. The training was entirely funded by the Bulgarian Development Assistance Programme. This year, 24 young experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine participated.

The training programme was developed and implemented jointly by the National Statistical Institute and the Centre for Statistical Studies at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) – Sofia.
