Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a meeting with the Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Alan Duncan.
The discussion focused on topical issues and prospects for the further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
As A. Duncan noted, Kazakhstan has all the opportunities for doing business and the necessary conditions have been created to attract foreign investment. Against the background of the UK’s exit from the European Union, A. Duncan assured that the continuity of key provisions in trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom would be ensured.
“Kazakhstan and the UK have a huge potential for building up bilateral cooperation that needs to be used effectively,” – Prime Minister A. Mamin said.
More than 850 legal entities, branches and representative offices with British involvement are registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, among them Royal Dutch Shell, Ernst & Young and others. In order to further increase the interaction of business structures, in October of this year, another Kazakh-British investment forum will be held in London, which will attract new interested representatives of large British businesses.
